Why Carrotstick?

It's a Legacy Title

"Carrotstick" is my nature name from my summer camp era. In the early '10s, I designed and managed a summer camp for children and youth from under-resourced communities. Everyone who came to the ranch rebranded themselves for the day, the week, or the season.

"It's an opportunity to be your best self," I explained.

Both campers and staff blossomed as they played.

Their growth was beautiful to witness.

My comms business embraces the same spirit of nurturing, exploration, and calculated risk-taking that made my summer camp a transformative space.

What is your educational background in writing?

I am currently a 4th-year Professional Communications student at MacEwan University, with a minor in Digital Experience (UX) Design. I am also pursuing a Continuing Education Certificate in Adult Education and e-Learning from the University of Calgary.

Because of my Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care (2019) and over 10 years of experience in the charitable sector, I am uniquely prepared to collaborate on human services projects (e.g., harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, neurodiverse).

What types of clients have you worked with in the past?

Technical Writing: Individuals (resumes, cover letters, divorce prep documents), event planners, and charities.

Instructional Design: Youth organizations, the Government of Alberta, and the Alberta College of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

UX Design: Alternative health/therapy businesses and a homeschool co-op.

What is your availability for writing projects?

My availability varies depending on the scope of the project and my current workload. Let's chat and establish a realistic timeline for your project.
